I really enjoyed this Paella 🥘 Making course! As someone who loves to cook it was great to gain an understanding and appreciation of Mediterranean cooking. This cooking class was a good experience. My only suggestion would be to re-think the structure of the class because a class of 8 people won't get the same value,... read more or even less, compared to a class of only 2 people. Maybe assign one pan for every 4 people if it's a big group or add a dessert option. Upon Eladi's recommendation to tour the Sarria neighborhood, I stumbled upon a mercado nearby, so maybe the host could even take the class to check out seafood options to improve the experience. The class wasn't heavily focused on the cooking portion (but we did get to chop vegetables and stir a couple times), so do not expect a master class in cooking paella lol. However, I had a fun group to interact with and enjoyed my time overall. Carlos provided sufficient background info on the dishes as well as his personal stories about paella. In hindsight, I should've spoken up, but it was a bit hard to hear him at times over the background music. Nevertheless, I would recommend this class if it's your first time in Barcelona. Also, the Sarria neighborhood is beautiful, so definitely take a walk before/after your class if you can.

I went for this experience with 3 of my close friends, on our first trip to Spain. It differed from my expectations, as we had a different host from that... read more mentioned in the description, she was a student. We were lacking a sense of community and authenticity in our experience, which is a tone that is typically set by the host. While she seemed to know her work, the experience at times felt like a one-sided class, and it took away from the advertised expectations of collaborating in a warm setting.
However, I will say that we still enjoyed the sangria and paella that was made, and would recommend the experience. I expect that the experience would be great if the host is Eladi.

Initially I registered for another paella cooking class, but it was cancelled a day before the class. I looked online and and was glad that i managed to find this... read more class. It was an excellent class! Anna is a very passionate and articulate teacher, and she shared with us all about Spanish cooking. She prepared a drink Sangria with red wine, a dessert crema catalana ( which involves a blow torch), and chicken, prawn and green bean paella. As there was one participant which was vegetarian, we also had a smaller pan of artichoke paella which was delicious. (so its good that you go with a vegeterian! Haha) This class is interactive as for each step Anna would demonstrate and then someone could volunteer to take over. At the end of the class I purchased the wooden spoons we ate with :) I saw that they also had "pimento la vera" and saffron for purchase, but I had already got that on my trip to Granada, a few
