I reserved this activity for a group of six people. Generally, the experience was satisfactory; the lesson had a good structure, and we gained insights into the history of paella,... read more sangria, and tapas. Nevertheless, there were areas where improvement could be made. The provided ingredients were quite basic and insufficient; despite there being a total of ten participants, we received only a small slice of jamon and cheese for the tapas. Even after requesting more jamon, it wasn't provided. Additionally, they skimped out on ingredients, particularly in the seafood paella where only one prawn each for a large pan of paella was provided, which I found questionable.
When I pointed out the issue of Eladi's double/triple dipping with the same spoon to taste the paella, he didn't apologise and instead mentioned it was for "extra taste," which I found unprofessional.
Additionally, my friend has gastritis, and before any of the food was ready, she asked for a slice of bread to help with the pain. Eladi asked many questions before reluctantly going to the kitchen to get a piece of bread. The introduction to the class spent too much time on paella, making it less interactive overall.
To summarise, while the lesson was decent, these aspects gave me pause. I wouldn't set my expectations too high for this experience.
